Dominic is a second-generation funeral director who grew up in Minnesota and has lived in Alaska since 2005. He learned the funeral business working in his family's business and was influenced by his parents and some of the Midwest's most prominent funeral directors.


He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1996 from the University of Minnesota's Program of Mortuary Science, one of the world's top programs. While studying, he was the Treasurer of the Mortuary Science Student Association and worked with several leading funeral and cremation providers in Minnesota. He holds professional licenses in both Minnesota and Alaska and has worked for the State of Alaska Medical Examiner's Office, giving him extensive knowledge of death investigation policies in Alaska.


Dominic values continuing education. He was awarded the Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) designation by the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice (APFSP) in 2000 and serves as the APFSP Ambassador for Alaska. He completed advanced pre-planning training in 2002 and is a Certified Pre-planning Consultant. He is also a member of the British Institute of Embalmers (BIE), the only Alaskan embalmer invited into this organization.


Throughout his career, Dominic has held various leadership roles, including Director, Treasurer, and Vice Chairman, and chaired the 2015 North American Division Annual Meeting at the NFDA Convention in Indianapolis. He is certified by the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) as a Crematory Operator and has served as President of the Alaska Death Care Association and on the Board of Directors of Life Alaska Donor Services.


Dominic is a graduate of the Dodge Institute of Advanced Mortuary Studies and the St. Louis University School of Medicine's Medico-legal Death Investigation course, achieving diplomate status with the American Board of Medico-legal Death Investigators. He is also a Notary Public and a licensed life insurance agent in Alaska and Minnesota, authorized to sell pre-need insurance.


Dominic is a Third Degree Knight, a past Grand Knight of Wasilla's Arctic Madonna K of C Council 9581, and a current member of Our Lady of Snows K of C Council at Holy Family Cathedral. He is a Fourth Degree member of the Father David Melbourne Assembly 2675 and a member of the Sons of the American Legion, the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, and the Petroleum Club of Anchorage.


He is available to speak to groups on various topics, including the history of funeral service, pre-planning, and grief and bereavement.
